Soft play!!!!!! What a wonderful term. I'm American, and we don't have a common term for soft play here. I adored those places as a child. The vision laid out in your final paragraph sounds so lovely.
I think this is as good a place as any for me to tell you that I am becoming a fan of yours. I first encountered your National Milk article doing research for a novel set in 1960's London that I will probably never write and I keep on stumbling upon PLAYGROUP without having sought it out. I come for interesting historical facts and always leave appreciating your analysis and simmering rage about the ways that capitalism eats away at individuals and society at large. Also, I've told so many people about the National Milk in the past few months. Thanks for sharing your work.
